Two research papers, both carried out at Kings College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, have revealed that those who use e-cigarettes daily made more effort to give up smoking over a year in comparison to infrequent users.
A second study compared the two different kinds of models, cigalikes and tanks, and their effectiveness to help users cut down on smoking. 25% of the 587 surveyed for the study used tank models daily, and out of these, 28% had given up tobacco smoking after a year, in comparison to just 13% who didn’t use e-cigarettes.
The study helps to show that every e-cigarette should be looked at differently, and that the type of device, the frequency of use and the amount of nicotine all matter when looking at e-cigarettes as a cessation aid.
